History of Genesis

Genesis is a car brand owned by Hyundai Motor. The brand's main office is located in South Korea, in Seoul. The production of premium Korean Genesis cars is carried out in the largest industrial center of the country - the metropolitan city of Ulsan.

Genesis is a car manufacturer from South Korea, well known all over the world. Officially, the brand’s models are presented in 17 markets: the USA, China, Australia, Europe, and the Middle East. Moreover, in August 2023, representatives of the brand officially announced that the total volume of car sales exceeded the mark of 1 million units. A solid result for a premium brand that hasn’t even celebrated its tenth anniversary yet.

Hyundai Motors made its first attempt to establish itself as a manufacturer of luxury cars back in 1999. Then, together with Mitsubishi, the Korean company launched the Equus sedan, which was produced exclusively for domestic consumers until 2016.

The new Hyundai project started in 2003, and in the first 23 months, $500 million was spent on it. The prototype of the luxury sedan was completed and presented to the public as the Concept Genesis in March 2007. The manufacturer presented the production model a year later at the Detroit International Auto Show.

The official date of birth of the Korean Genesis car was November 4, 2015. And the first model released under the new logo is the G90 sedan.

The brand team is in no hurry to release new products, but every Genesis car is an example of style, safety and technology. Today, the brand’s lineup, in addition to the G90, includes the G70 sports sedan and the G80 business sedan, the GV70 and GV80 crossovers, the G70 Shooting Brake station wagon, as well as the G80 and GV70 electric vehicles. No matter which model you choose, Genesis is guaranteed to provide:

Full LED optics.

Intelligent driving mode.

Smart cruise control Stop&Go.

Leather seat upholstery.

Driver's seat with electrically adjustable lumbar.

Heated front seats.

In 2023, the company announced the release of 3 new products at once: a restyled version of the GV80 crossover and a coupe based on the same version. Nothing is yet known about the third new product - brand representatives stubbornly maintain intrigue, saying only that the car will occupy a place in a completely new segment for the brand.

Genesis looks confidently into the future: starting from 2025, only electric models are planned to be developed under the South Korean brand. Thus, the list of expected “green” new products already includes 2 sedans and 4 crossovers. At the same time, the production of existing cars with internal combustion engines will continue as long as there is demand for the model.
