 Chinese car manufacturers are increasingly starting to enter markets around the world. Changan may be one such example. At first glance, it seems that the manufacturer is completely new and will not be able to offer a wide variety. In fact, the company's history goes back to the 19th century. In addition, Changan Automobile is considered the most developed in China.

Changan company has its roots back in the middle of the XIX century, to be more precise, it was founded in 1862. The founder is considered to be Li Hongzhang, a Chinese statesman in Shanghai. At that time it was a small machine-building factory that worked for the benefit of the state, but was in private hands. After the revolution in 1949, the factory passed to the state and began producing cars in 1958.

In the same year, the first SUV designed for military purposes rolled off the assembly line. Up to and including 1962, the factory produced only military SUVs. As for passenger transport, the starting date is considered to be 1984, at the same time the first compact cars were presented. Suzuki made more progress, which in 1993 concluded a joint production of cars. A little later in 2001, Ford joined the already well-established two.

On the basis of Changan production lines, Ford Focus and Fiesta models were produced, and are still being produced. Starting in 2006, Changan began selling Landwind SUVs, which were famous for excellent cross-country performance, while the cost was lower than expected. A year later, in 2007, serial production of the CV9 compact minivan begins.

The company name Changan means translated as time-tested reliability. On the other hand, the company is named after the city where it is actually located — Chang'an – Xi'an, the center of China. The brand's logo is made in the form of the V symbol and resembles the Acura brand, only the top is bottom. The background of the emblem is usually blue and is clearly visible from a great distance.

Today, the company has established a good production of new products.  The manufacturer's arsenal includes hatchbacks, minivans and sedans.
